Complete Your Build

A green skeleton dial designed to expose the inner workings of Seiko skeleton movements. The open cutouts reveal the oscillating rotor, gear train, and balance wheel of the NH70, NH71, or NH72, while the green-finished outer ring provides the chapter ring, applied markers, and C3 Super-LumiNova for time reading. The green adds a distinct color accent to the visible movement mechanics underneath, framing the exposed gears in a way that makes the skeleton effect more dramatic than a neutral-colored skeleton dial would. At 28.5 mm diameter, this dial fits the Royal Oak 37mm V2 and Petrichor 37mm cases directly. Compatible primarily with NH70, NH71, and NH72 skeleton movements.

Compatibility

Movements: NH70, NH71, and NH72 skeleton movements only. These movements have an open rotor and exposed gear train designed to be visible through a skeleton dial’s cutouts. Standard automatic movements like the NH35 and NH36 do not have the aesthetic benefit of a skeleton dial, as their solid rotor will simply be visible behind the openings without the intended mechanical display.

Cases: The 28.5 mm diameter fits the Royal Oak 37mm V2 and Petrichor 37mm directly. Not compatible with 41 mm cases or the Seikonaut, which require 30.8 mm dials.

About Skeleton Dials

Skeleton dials are designed to be transparent — large sections of the dial face are cut away to expose the movement underneath, turning the mechanical internals into a visual feature. The outer ring retains the hour markers, chapter ring, and lume for time reading, while the center opens up to show the balance wheel, escapement, and oscillating rotor. This green skeleton dial adds a color dimension to the mechanical display: the green ring contrasts against the silver and gold tones of the movement components, making the exposed mechanics stand out more sharply than they would behind a silver or black skeleton frame. For the best visual effect, pair with an exhibition caseback so the movement is visible from both sides.

Frequently Asked Questions

What cases fit this dial?

The 28.5 mm diameter fits the Royal Oak 37mm V2 case and the Petrichor 37mm case. It does not fit the Royal Oak 41mm or Seikonaut (Nautilus) cases, which require a 30.8 mm dial.

What movements are compatible?

NH70, NH71, and NH72 skeleton movements only. These have an open rotor and exposed gear train that are designed to be visible through the dial cutouts. Standard movements like the NH35 or NH36 will technically fit but are not recommended — their solid rotor will be visible through the openings without the intended skeleton visual effect.

What is the difference between a skeleton dial and a waffle dial?

A skeleton dial has open cutouts that expose the movement underneath, designed for skeleton movements like the NH72. A waffle dial is a solid dial with a stamped guilloché grid texture that covers the movement entirely, designed for standard movements like the NH35. The two types serve different movements and are not interchangeable.

Can I use this dial in a Nautilus or Seikonaut case?

No. The Seikonaut case requires a 30.8 mm dial. This skeleton dial is 28.5 mm. For 30.8 mm skeleton dials, browse our 30.8 mm dial collection.
